Mark finished his primary education at Ben Franklin Academy, under the guidance of Dr. Wood Smethurst and his colleagues. After high school, he worked for 9 years as a lot manager for valet parking companies in Atlanta, while maintaining a night job as a professional disc jockey at various night clubs. Mark is also passionate about the outdoors and adventurous travel during his free time, which lead to him working at a non-profit environmental education group called, Georgia Environmental Organization. At GEO, he was trained to be a rafting guide, environmental educator, and membership coordinator. This lead him to pursue degrees from Georgia Perimeter College and Georgia State University. After returning to school in his late 20's, Mark was hired by ATC Associates, Inc. to be a staff scientist and project manager for environmental remediation and engineering projects throughout the Southeastern United States. While maintaining his job in engineering for close to 3 years, he was a part-time professional poker player, in order to keep an edge with his corporate lifestyle. He walked away from his job and life in Atlanta, so he could chase a dream to be a professional cannabis farmer in Mendocino County, and hasn't looked back since. Currently, Mark is working publicly with the Mendocino Cannabis Industry Association to help organize county supervisor candidate forums, speaking at county & state government hearings, and hoping to organize Mendocino County's Green Light Initiative for veteran care. Cannaloupe (@CaptCannaloupe), and is collaborating with Leonard Moore Collective, Dragonfly Wellness Center, Madrone Family Farms, Mendocino Generations, Spark Highgrade Glassware, Soil King Garden Center, California Growers Association, and other local industry businesses and owners, in order to raise money for local charities and policy work.
